Les Thermes is a large wooden pool with 25,000 plastic balls that invites you to take a moral bath in Stoic philosophy. You can either enjoy a free swim in the pool or visit one of the interventions in which various guests apply Stoic principles to the themes of the festival and provide further food for thought and discussion.

Sascha Rijkeboer is a slam poet, columnist and trans activist. In a full-length queer spoken word show, Sascha sensitises the audience to gender and gender and justice issues in equal measure. With this programme Sascha has performed on various Swiss stages. Sascha writes poetry; various publications appeared e.g. at GLITTER, queer literature magazine. Since 2017, Sascha has been involved in the photo project INBETWEEN OUTSIDE, which was acknowledged in the online newspaper REPUBLIK, among others. Sascha can also be seen in the artistic documentary BEING SASCHA, which was awarded the Basel Film Prize.

Les Thermes ist ein Bällelibad für Erwachsene. Auf jedem Ball steht ein kurzer Satz aus der Philosophie. Das Publikum kann einfach das Bällelibad geniessen, oder einen der Vorträge im Bad besuchen. Bei diesen Vorträgen sprechen verschiedene Gäste über verschiedene Themen, die mit den Sätzen auf den Bällen zu tun haben.

Relaxed Performance

The lecture is relaxed. The audience is not expected to sit completely still. The audience is allowed to come and go during the lecture. There are no loud noises.

The lecture lasts 30 minutes and has no interval.

There is a relaxed space in the Festival Centre where you can retreat at any time. This is accessible as soon as the Festival Centre is open. The relaxed space is signalled and there are visual protections around it. It contains a sofa, a few beanbags, dimmed lights and sensory tools.
